Today in the car, I was very touched by something that Ava said.
We had just gone shoe shopping while the boys were still at school. As we rode along Division Street heading toward the grocery store, Ava suddenly piped up from the back seat.
"Mama?" (I love that she calls me that)
"We're not alone in that house."
I assumed she meant our new house that we are renting, and shook my head in agreement.
She sighed and continued, "We're not alone in that house. We're not alone because Jesus Christ is there with us. We're never alone."
She turned to look out of the window while my heart brimmed over with amazement at her already strong testimony. She watched the buildings go by for a minute with her pink Sleeping Beauty sunglasses slightly askew.
She continued, "No matter where we go, Jesus knows where we are. Even when we're lost, He can find us."
I finished the drive with tears in my eyes and a smile on my face from her tender wisdom. I am so glad my four-year-old girl knows that her Savior loves her and is always with her.
